When we decided to fly to Taiwan (read why we flew to Taiwan instead), I suggested that we must eat at the Modern Toilet Restaurant. On our third day in Taipei, we were finally crossing it off our bucket list.Â
Modern Toilet Restaurant is a bathroom-inspired-themed restaurant in Taipei. You cannot miss the three-story building that has prominent signage. It is also the inspiration for the Modern Toilet Restaurant in Boracay, Philippines.Â
If you are commuting to go to Modern Toilet, the nearest MRT station would be Ximen which is on the Blue and Green line of MRT.Â

Despite the many not-so-good reviews about the restaurant and an off-the-blog review from our friend who recently traveled to Taipei before us, we still wanted to experience it.Â

As expected, the place was packed and we had to reserve for a seat. When we were finally attended to, the server lead us to our own little corner. I love the little details of the restaurant. I know friends who have tried the restaurant and couldn’t even eat their meals. I was starving when we dined it so I guess we came prepared for this theme restaurant.Â

Photo grabbed from RodelÂ
We ordered a set of rice meal that comes with free rice, soup, tofu sidings and a cup of ice cream. It also comes with free drink (iced tea) which you can upgrade to be served in a fancy toilet bowl. I think we had enough toilet that day so we decided to have it served in a normal glass. Meal starts at NTS $250.Â
I order Pork Curry, while Rodel had a Sauteed Ground Pork. There is nothing really special about the food; the ice cream felt a bit icy too. The service is pretty slow, thankfully we got toilets around us to keep us entertained.Â

I recommend eating at the Modern Toilet Restaurant for experience, but not for food. Just enjoy and take lots of photos Bring a crazy friend who can finish the food for you.Â
